Wherever there is a carcass, there the vultures will gather. Immediately after the tribulation of those days: ‘The sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.’ At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and all the tribes of the earth will mourn. The Earth went Dark for 3 Hours during the Crucifixion of Jesus. Had someone else written about it? It was accompanied by a Great Earthquake that was written about it. In fact, according to Research, a Historian named Thallus testified and recorded that the Darkness was indeed caused by a Solar Eclipse. He wrote about the History of the Mediterranean, in about 50 AD. 

Thallus or Thallos (Greek: Θαλλός), perhaps a Samaritan, [1] was an early historian who wrote in Koine Greek.He wrote a three-volume history of the Mediterranean world from before the Trojan War to the 167th Olympiad, 112-108 BC, or perhaps to the 217th Olympiad (AD 89-93) or 207th Olympiad (AD 49-52).Most of his work, like the vast majority of ancient literature, has been lost
 

This was only about 18 Years removed from the Crucifixion. His works have been lost but a copy did survive. The Copy of the Record was in the possession of an Early Christian Father named Julius Africanus, around 221 AD. In his Commentary, he reiterated that Thallus had documented that the Darkness that came over the Wrath was caused by a Solar Eclipse. Here is the misinterpretation and misunderstanding. 

One must realize that the Darkness occurred at precisely Mid-Day. The Moon was not even out nor visible from Jerusalem to have cause such Darkness, etc. Because Passover is always on a Full Moon, it is impossible to have a Solar Eclipse at the same Day. So, it is presumed that it was a Lunar Eclipse. But here is the issue, there was a Total Lunar Eclipse or Blood Moon on that Day of the Crucifixion.
 

But it occurred near Midnight and in the USA or the Western Hemisphere on the other side of the Globe. The Solar Eclipse occurred because in deed, a Celestial Body came in-between the Sun the and the Earth. That Celestial Object, one contends, was Planet X, the Red Dragon, Nemesis, Nibiru, the Death Star, etc. One also postulates that this Flyby f the Death Star will again visit Earth during the Tribulation Period. And that it will coincide with the 2nd Passover of 2032. 

Celestial Phenomena 

It will follow the 2 prior Passovers from Exodus and the Crucifixion Blood Moons. IN the case of the Tribulation Period it will coincide with the breaking of Seal 4. It is what will occur, in similar fashion.
 

I looked when He opened the 6th Seal, and behold, there was a Great Earthquake; and the Sun became Black as Sackcloth of Hair, and the Moon became like Blood. And the Stars of Heaven fell to the Earth, as a Fig Tree drops its late Figs when it is shaken by a Mighty Wind.

To the Jews, this Celestial Phenomena, supernatural was have been a clear Sign that echoed the Experience their Forefathers also had with Moses. At that Time, there was a blood Moon the Night they left Egypt. And under the cover of Darkness, it was at that Lat Judgment that YHV judged Egypt was the slaying the 1st Born. 

That is what Jesus was also as it states in Scripture, that ‘He was as the 1st Born of all Creation’. The Amazing Dichotomy was that the entire Globe, on both sides of the Hemispheres went completely Dark. The s that Jesu was the Author of Light and Life. Jesus created the Sun, Moon and the Star, etc.

Was it written in 50 AD?

Julius Africanus, in a now-fragmentary work (often called Chronography), writes the following regarding the darkness at Jesus' crucifixion:

"On the whole world there pressed a most fearful darkness; and the rocks were rent by an earthquake, and many places in Judea and other districts were thrown down. This darkness Thallus, in the third book of his Histories, calls, as appears to me without reason, an eclipse of the sun."

This is the only surviving reference to Thallus on this matter. Africanus is disputing Thallus's explanation, pointing out that a solar eclipse cannot happen during a full moon, which is when Passover (and thus the Crucifixion) took place.

So what do we know about Thallus’s account?

Original text lost – We do not have Thallus's Histories, only Julius Africanus' critical mention.

Was it an eyewitness account?

Unclear. There is no indication that Thallus witnessed the event himself.

He might have recorded Traditions, Reports, or Annals circulating at the Time.

Analysis: Could it have been an Eclipse?

Astronomically, a Solar Eclipse cannot occur during a Full Moon, because Solar Eclipses require a New Moon.

Since the Crucifixion occurred during Passover, which always coincides with a Full Moon, Africanus correctly refutes the Eclipse Explanation.

Some Researchers propose that Thallus was using “Eclipse” figuratively or as a Generic Term for unexplained Darkness (common in Ancient Writing), not necessarily referring to a Literal Astronomical Event. [Do not agree with this last Statement.]

To block the Sun entirely, the Object must have an Angular Diameter ≥ 0.53° as seen from Earth.

WHAT IF YOU WANT THE WHOLE EARTH TO GO DARK?

At a Global Scale, the Day-Side Eclipse (not just the Narrow Path like a Solar Eclipse), then, the Object must completely block the Sun’s Light across the entire Sunlit Hemisphere of Earth.

This requires the Object to be large enough, and at the right Distance, to cast a Shadow that envelops the entire Earth.

That Shadow (Umbra) Size depends on Geometry — and to cover all of Earth’s Sunlit Side, the Object must be at the correct Size and Distance so that its Umbral Cone's Cross-Section of the Object is at least Earth’s Diameter (~12,742 km).

For a rough estimate:

A Planet about the size of Neptune (~50,000 KM in Diameter), located Midway between Earth and the Sun, would cast a Shadow wide enough to darken the entire Earth.

No, it was a Solar Eclipse as one has presents the Historical Evidence from Julius Africanus, who quoted Thallus as interviewing those that were either Eye Witnesses or had 1st Hand Knowledge, that it was indeed a Solar Eclipse had occurred that Day. And? Well, this is impossible, naturally because in that same 24-Hour Period, you had the Total Lunar Eclipse or Blood Moon occur in the Constellation of Libra, on the other side of the Hemisphere. The Point is that the Moon had to be in-between the Sun and the Earth to have a Solar Eclipse. 

This Phenomena is what the Prophet Joel foretold about the Sun, Moon and the Stars. It was not and it is not just mere Jewish Poetry. Literally, on that Day of the Jesus’ Crucifixion, the Sun turned Black as Sackcloth. The Moon turned Red as Blood. And the Stars came out in Mid-Day. So, one wanted to provide the Mathematical Formula that calculates that for the entire Hemisphere to have gone Dark, the Celestial Object would have needed to be 7X larger than Earth.
 

A comparative size would be the Planet Neptune. And that based on the Mathematical Variables, it had to Flyby approximately halfway the Distance, in-between the Sun and the Earth. What one has presented already is that these specific Flybys of the ‘Red Dragon’ occurred back during the Exodus of the Israelites on Nisan 15 and will again, in one’s Calculation on 2nd Passover in 2032.

One is convinced that the Flyby of this Planet X will be used to inflict the Divine Seal, Trumpet and Bowl Judgments during the 7-Year Tribulation Period, in that Post-Rapture Luciferian World Order. The Calamities and Catastrophes that are coming upon the Earth are unimaginable. But they are recorded as best the Apostle John knew how from the Language and Vocabulary he was only familiar with, etc. Thank Jesus that He promised His Bride to be spared from the Wrath to come
